4.1 - Differentiated Instruction through the Lens of Our Faith
Presented By: Andrea Sullivan and Lynn Jeffs – Durham Catholic DSB
This workshop will provide an overview of the DI framework as we unpack the Ministry of Education`s resources for Differentiated Instruction, notably the “Teaching/ Learning Examples, Grades 7-10.” Participants will explore how to integrate their Catholic faith into the “Teaching/ Learning Examples” and will consider effective differentiated activities for immediate use in the classroom to respond to the needs of their diverse learners. Emphasis will be placed on both Mathematics and Language-based curricula. In a series of interactive activities, involving Catholic curriculum mapping, participants will work with curriculum policy documents, the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations and Ministry resources.

4.2 - Sustain Us Lord: Catholic Education in Trying Times
Presented By: Michael Way Skinner – York Catholic DSB
Through humour and anecdote, this presentation explores the elements of a sustaining spirituality for those who work in Catholic Education in these trying times. Strategies and perspectives are explored that enable joyful work, and in turn prevent burn-out.

4.3 - Make it Fun and Watch them Learn

Awaken the love of learning in your students by participating in this interactive Kindergarten workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to look at how to set up a warm, safe and nurturing learning environment that meets the needs of all students. Explore how to make learning fun including reading, writing and rich oral discussions in learning centres. This session will focus on what literacy can look like in every corner of your classroom.

4.4 - Discover the Diamond within Every Child!
Presented By: Tammy Vallieres-MacRae – Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic DSB
This workshop will focus on the Whole Child. At the end of this presentation educators will be able to better nourish the soul, the mind and self worth of each individual child. The information is targeted to serve all students, but most especially those with difficulties succeeding in the traditional school system. Suggestions and exercises are designed to consider multiple intelligences and provide teachers with best practices that will help end the year off with a peaceful heart!

4.5 - Facilitating Powerful and Engaging Learning Communities
Presented By: Annie Gojmerac and Vince Chininea – Halton Catholic DSB
This learning opportunity allows teacher leaders to engage in professional dialogue around questions that are essential to their practice. Interested participants will be introduced to protocols and facilitation skills which serve as frameworks that support deeper professional learning. These protocols can be used to enhance professional learning for teachers working to meet the diverse needs of students. The activities experienced in the workshop can also be transferred for immediate use in the classroom for student learning. Those attending this interactive workshop will be able to network and share learning with other Catholic educators from various boards across the province. The focus will be on reflective and relevant concerns that each teacher brings to the group.

4.6 - I Am With You Always
Presented By: Christine Mackey – Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland, Clarington Catholic DSB, Monica Brown and Hilary Musgrave – Emmaus Ministries
It is not enough to teach our children about God. Today, more than ever, we need to provide them with opportunities that draw them into the experience of God with them in their daily reality. In this workshop Monica and Hilary will demonstrate through scripture storytelling, ritual, sacred clowning, music and embodied prayer, how to nurture in our children in our classrooms and in our liturgy, meaningful and intimate relationship with God.

4.7 - iMatter: A Mental Health Supplement
Presented By: Marisa Mariella and Halina Salciccioli – Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic DSB
Information on all aspects of mental health is important for teenagers because of statistics on incidences among this age group. Studies suggest that school-based intervention must include empathy-building approaches, direct contact with individuals who have been treated for a mental illness, education and the active involvement of peers in the approaches. iMATTER is an exciting initiative that allows Peer Mentors to assist the grade 9 Religion Studies teachers in the delivery of a series of lessons on dispelling myths, brain chemistry, symptoms of mental unwellness, and resources. Experience first-hand how to promote a shift in culture among your student body!

4.8 - Transforming Through Tunes
Presented By: Terrence N. Siqueira – Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools (Alberta)
Children need connection to all that they learn. Music and Liturgy should go hand in hand. People at this workshop will learn how to make the most with the least. If you sing and/or play a guitar (beginner level), you will learn effective strategies to keep your students engaged in your classroom.
