D3 – Huron-Perth:

Description: In this session, you will hear how Huron-Perth Catholic DSB supported educators as co-learners to facilitate student learning in math and co-plan for next steps. Working in small groups of divisional teachers and school principal with system support, educators used a “W” model to build intentional professional learning in schools and alongside students. According to Dr. Cathy Bruce, the “W” model of professional learning creates an opportunity to “slow down” the planning, implementing, and debriefing included in delivering engaging and thoughtful math lessons. Teachers and principals work together to plan, facilitate, and consolidate student learning while building collective efficacy.
