C11 – Building Early Literacy Through Experiential Learning

Description: God has blessed each of us with special gifts and talents. Experiential learning opportunities introduce students to the gifts and talents of community members and help students to recognize and foster their own gifts and talents. Practical and fun ideas for primary educators to incorporate community-based experiences that increase student engagement and support the growth of early literacy. From veterinarians to wind turbines, examples of inexpensive experiential learning opportunities and the foundational literacy that grew from students’ shared experiences.
