Reconciliation Through Reflection

Audience:
Elementary
Descriptor:
Reconciliation Through Reflection is an online platform where Gr. 2/3 teachers, and students can engage virtually in five distinct Catholic modules focused around the sacrament of Reconciliation. These modules have engaging activities, interactive videos and discussion questions which lend to the themes of the Growing In Faith, Growing In Christ program, as well as are closely connected to the Religious Education Policy Document. Reconciliation Through Reflection is not intended to replace the Religious Education program, but to be a supplementary resource to assist in preparing students for First Reconciliation.

By using software, teachers are able to explore the five modules that their class will be using to network with other students in their sacramental year. Through technology, schools will be paired with one another automatically, providing the contact information of another teacher in a different Catholic school board. Classes can meet online bi-monthly throughout the school year, as a tentative virtual schedule is provided. An online handbook is available for all teachers should technical support be needed at any time. The online sessions where students will meet their virtual friends are designed to help guide the teacher regarding the themes/topics surrounding the sacrament of Reconciliation and can be viewed prior. Modules offer activities, interactive videos, and discussion questions throughout this online journey with their partner school or within their own classroom. Activities are also offered in French!
