Literacy Through Religion

Audience:	Elementary/Secondary  (Grades 3, 6, 10)
Descriptor:	This resource offers literacy resources with a religious lens for grades 3, 6 and 10. There are 3 components. The first consists of literacy lessons centering on biblical figures. These include biographies, new animated videos, links, biblical connections and verses. These are offered in French and English. The second component is literacy lessons with a focus on culturally diverse saints. These lessons match the calendar celebrations and offer videos, links, biographies and literacy assessments and activities. These are offered in French and English. The last component is created for families. It has biblical figures and saints for families to examine. There are links to online NRSV biblical sources or the family can use the bibles distributed by schools. This provides an opportunity for families to study together and further their own biblical knowledge.
